POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate operation of EPS molding and cutting machines, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety procedures are consistently met.
Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday. 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure all work is performed with safety as the top priority.
- Operate molding machines, block molding machines, and cutting equipment according to standard operating procedures.
- Monitor machine performance, material feed, cycle times, and output quality throughout production shifts.
- Assist the line operator in all phases of foam block cutting, from set-up to cutting, labeling, packing, and clean up.
- Ensure quality of product is up to established standards.
- Pack products according to specifications.
- Maintain production quotas.
- Various secondary work on drill, saws, gluing, etc.
- Complete paperwork as required.
- All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Familiarity with EPS manufacturing equipment, including molding and cutting machines, is an asset.
- Ability to understand production drawings, machine settings, and technical instructions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math and computer skills for data entry and machine interface use.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices, WHMIS, and lockout/tagout procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing production environment preferred.
- Forklift certification is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of production machinery and mechanical systems.
- Experience with shift work and meeting production targets is an asset.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Able to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse or loading dock environment, including exposure to varying temperatures.
