About the Limestone District School Board

About this position
Spring Numeracy & Literacy Tutors will provide EQAO support and gap closing instruction to students in grades 9 & 10. Within a structured school day, Tutors will provide direct instruction to individual students and small groups focusing on numeracy and/or literacy skills.
Duties of the Tutor include:
- Attend all training
- Plan and lead 1:1 or small group math and/or literacy instruction
- Monitor student progress and share with classroom teachers and school administrators
Duties, responsibilities, and qualifications
We are looking for applicants who:
- are learners who seek and apply feedback to improve their practice
- show initiative
- are currently enrolled in post-secondary studies and are considering an education-related career
- are interested in, or have experience working with students in small groups in math and/or literacy
- can provide their own transportation to the assigned school (mileage not covered by LDSB)
oplease note that schools may not be on bus routes
- have a current CPIC with vulnerable sector check (or can obtain one prior to employment) -Please note that this can take some time and we recommend beginning the process as soon as possible.
