The opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of Design Solutions Studio, we are hiring a Workplace Design Specialist to join our growing team in Mississauga. This role is suited to an intermediate workplace design professional who thrives in a fast-paced, production-driven environment and enjoys balancing technical drafting with cross-functional collaboration.
You will translate workplace requirements into accurate furniture layouts, specifications, and installation packages. Working closely with Workplace Consultants, Project Managers, Account Support Coordinators, and clients, you will support successful project delivery through high-quality drawings and documentation. This is a detail-intensive role requiring strong organization, time management, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.
This position offers the opportunity to deepen your expertise in workplace design, contract furniture, and space planning within a collaborative environment.
This is an existing, full-time vacancy, working a minimum of 3 days per week on-site at our Mississauga office.

You are a highly organized, detail-oriented workplace design professional who enjoys translating workplace concepts into precise technical drawings and documentation.
You bring strong AutoCAD and space planning capability, with experience in commercial interiors, contract furniture, or workplace environments. You take pride in producing accurate, production-ready drawings and specifications that support successful project execution.
You are curious, adaptable, and comfortable working across multiple priorities in a high-output environment. Beyond attention to detail, you apply strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess requirements, identify issues, and determine practical solutions. You communicate clearly, ask effective clarifying questions, and collaborate well across internal teams and clients. What you will do
- Develop workplace drawings and specifications. You will interpret requirements from Workplace Consultants and clients to produce accurate space plans, furniture layouts, specifications, installation drawings, and presentation packages using 2D and 3D tools.
- Support end-to-end project execution. You will remain engaged throughout the project lifecycle, supporting projects from concept and quoting stages through installation preparation and final documentation. You will manage multiple active projects simultaneously ensuring timelines, accuracy, and coordination across deliverables.
- Collaborate across teams and clients. You will work closely with Workplace Consultants, Project Managers, Account Support Coordinators, and clients to ensure smooth communication and successful project execution. You will participate in collaborative design discussions, including design reviews and live collaboration sessions..
- Ensure technical accuracy and compliance. You will ensure layouts meet applicable fire and building codes and maintain accurate as-built documentation. You will also support site measurements and verification activities as required.
- Build technical expertise. You will stay current on Haworth product knowledge, workplace systems, software updates, and industry trends, while supporting junior team members where appropriate.
What you bring
- The experience. You have a background in Interior Design, Architectural Technology, or a related discipline, with a minimum of three years of AutoCAD experience. Experience in commercial office interiors, workplace design, or contract furniture environments is strongly preferred. You have experience producing detailed drawings, specifications, and space plans with strong attention to accuracy and execution quality. Experience with CET/Configura, ProjectSpec, SketchUp, Canvas, or related specification and visualization tools is considered an asset.
- The technical capability. You are highly proficient in AutoCAD and comfortable working within structured, detail-heavy production environments. You can quickly adapt to new tools and manage competing priorities in a project-based workflow.
- The interpersonal skills. You communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams and clients. You ask thoughtful questions, listen carefully to requirements, and collaborate effectively across departments. You are independent when needed but thrive in a team-oriented environment.

Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $55,000-$65,000 CAD with a bonus potential. Compensation is thoughtfully determined based on your experience, skill set, and alignment with our internal compensation framework.
