The Opportunity:
IMP Group Ltd. is searching for a Junior Software Developer to join our Information Technology department, in a paid Co-Op position (4-month term). If you are a focused, detail-oriented person who prides themselves on a job well done, you are our ideal candidate! This is an excellent opportunity for your professional growth and development by working onsite at our head office in Halifax, with a collaborative and supportive team of professionals.
What You Will Do:
- You will provide support to the Software Development team and participate in the maintenance and testing of existing software applications.
- Create Test plans in Azure Dev Ops
- Resolve issues identified with Static code analysis tools (SonarQube)
- Write Unit Tests for existing software using AI assisted code generation tools.
- Assist in software testing.
- Help to establish (Configuration Management Database) CMDB in Service Desk
- Software maintenance to update applications to latest framework levels (.NET 9.0)
- Enter and track time spent towards tasks and projects.
- Update service desk tickets

What You Need to Succeed:

Completing a secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field, with a minimum of 2 years completed.

Ability to pass relevant government security clearances (i.e., Public Services and Procurement Canada, Level II (Secret) with the Department of National Defense, etc.)

Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS and SQL would be considered an asset.

Open to ongoing training to build your skillset.

Ability to learn new technology and apply them to software solutions.

Demonstrate professionalism through communication and overall conduct.
