Position: Full Time Security Guard
Site: Cabot Canada Ltd.
Site Address: 800 Tashmoo Ave, Sarnia, ON N7T 7N4
Overtime Method: Employment Standards Act – calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly
Hours: 2 Week Rotation 05:00 –13:00/13:00 - 21:00hrs
Payrate: $20.88/hr

External Closing Date: October 13, 2025
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and patrol the premises to ensure safety and security
- Perform regular security checks of the property, including parking areas, entrances, exits, and other designated areas
- Perform waste and perimeter inspections
- Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access or unlawful activities
- Control access at entry points and ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises
- Respond to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies and take appropriate actions as needed
- Assist in the enforcement of company policies and procedures, including monitoring and reporting any suspicious activities
- Report any incidents, accidents, or security breaches promptly to the management team
- Complete daily logs and security reports, documenting any unusual occurrences
- Provide assistance to employees, visitors, and vendors as needed
- Monitor surveillance cameras and security equipment, ensuring they are functioning properly
- Report and broadcast emergency procedures, drills and testing
- Cooperate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other authorities when necessary
- Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and ready for use
Prerequisites
- Valid Ontario Security Licence
- Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
- Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act and Mental Health Act
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
- Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
