Our Quality team is expanding and looking to add a Senior Engineer, Supplier Quality Development. We are looking for a dynamic and driven candidate who is interested in joining a fast-growing global company in the automotive sector.
Responsibilities Senior Engineer, Supplier Quality Development oversees Minth North America's global pass-through supply base and its interactions with internal and external customers. This role maintains pass-through supplier performance status and launches actions toward improvement, development, and growth; works closely with new product launches, and engineering changes to foster a smooth approval process, defect-free product receipt, compliance with Minth North America's quality manual, and industry standards. Other responsibilities include:

Provides quality validation by conducting on-site visits to verify quality system and capabilities. This includes but not limited to review of supplier quality systems, process, and facility to verify Minth North America's quality standards are met

Monitors pass-through products after kickoff of new program and changes to products

Annual capability rating, cost optimization and improvement

Improvement of category supplier capabilities

Verifies initial expectations, and follows the PPAP process’ including advanced review and verification of PPAP documents including on-site audits

Champion’s problem resolution teams to foster a team approach to achieve on-time PPAP approval and ongoing receipt of defect-free product
-
Oversees and documents Minth pass-through global performance by issuing MMR reports, validates issues by reviewing corrective actions, and on-site verification audits including the review of a control plan, PFMEA, work instructions, and all applicable documentation to determine the adequacy and capability of the quality system and avoid repeat occurrences

Maintains records of customer visits including findings, acceptance, established action list, follow-up timing, etc.

Provides weekly reports of pass-through activity including audits, non-conformance issues, and concerns to management

Preserves pass-through performance data as required by the IATF Standard and Minth North America's goals and objectives, including defect trends by commodity group as an input to future purchasing, engineering, tooling, and quality decisions

Upholds the quality manual, and systems, and publishes supplier report cards assuring timely updates of information and distribution to appropriate personnel Prepares periodic and special reports concerning supplier performance

Interacts with other departments including materials, receiving inspection, purchasing, and engineering with manufacturing process priority, communicating pass-through non-conformance findings, and verifies the product is identified during all stages

Understands, documents, and properly performs 8-D corrective action procedure. Evaluates risks and aid in problem resolution ND Reviews hold material and reports and react to supplier issues

Identifies critical supplier processes and performs specific audits for compliance with standards, and Minth North America's goals and objectives

Takes an active role in IATF16949 by maintaining supplier records including IQ meetings, actions, trip reports, corrective actions, supplier assessments, and scorecard data, as required by the standard and Minth North America's goals and objectives

Review the rejects daily and pass along the failure modes to China

Manage the Monthly Claims and ensure that debits are made

Travels as required; both domestic and international
To be a qualified candidate you must meet the following:
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 7 years of proven QE experience or supplier management experience in the automotive industry
- Proficient in IATF 16949 / Six Tools / VDA 6.3
- Familiar with GD&T, drawings, inspection fixtures, and materials knowledge
- Expertise in injection molding, surface treatment process, etc.
- Proven experience leading teams and mentoring and developing individuals.
- Experience with FMEA, APQP, PPAP and Corrective Action processing
- Ability to read and review engineering specifications and objectively problem solve process issues
- Proficient in use of ERP/MRP systems and employing Lean/Continuous Improvement methods
- Understands the non-conforming material procedures
