About the role

The Supervisor applies advanced knowledge of protection theory, technical expertise, and leadership to strengthen safety, reduce risk, and protect Covenant Health’s people and assets. They oversee the performance and readiness of site protection personnel, ensuring staff are competent, aligned with organizational vision, and values, and equipped to work in complex, high-risk environments. The Supervisor conducts and manages sensitive investigations, offering expert analysis and recommendations to mitigate liability and enhance operational effectiveness. The Supervisor helps research, develop, and implement Professional Standards for Peace Officers, as well as departmental policies, procedures, and best practices. They maintain open and effective communication within the department and across facilities, external agencies, and the community to promote collaboration and positive public relations. The role includes reviewing documentation, preparing reports, monitoring trends, and ensuring compliance with organizational goals & standards. The Supervisor serves as the site subject matter expert on deterrence, detection, response, and mitigation techniques, ensuring Peace Officers are properly oriented, equipped, and operationally ready. They assist in managing and allocating financial, human & material resources to meet budget targets and client needs. Additionally, the Supervisor promotes the visibility and professionalism of Covenant Health Peace Officers, ensures availability of essential tools and equipment, and mentors staff through effective performance management and communication. In this supervisory role, the incumbent manages portfolios within Protective Services, contributes to corporate-wide protection initiatives, participates in committees, completes complex projects, and performs administrative duties as assigned. This position is non-unionized.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years post-secondary education related to Policing/Security or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years’ law enforcement or directly related experience. 3-5 years’ experience in supervision or personnel management. Combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:
