Job Summary & Key Responsibilities

A part-time academic is required to teach ENGL 2005.03: World Literature, in the Winter 2026 Term, Tues/Thurs 1135-1255. This course is scheduled to be taught in-person. The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class including lectures, test preparation and evaluation, and grading. The position reports to the Chair of the Department.

Qualifications/Requirements of Position

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in English or be in the final stages of a Ph.D. program. Previous experience teaching at the university level in world literature is preferred.

Salary Range/Pay Rate

As per CUPE Collective Agreement

Cover Letter is optional. For each part-time academic the Chair will conduct an annual assessment of teaching performance, based on student ratings of instruction and may also include classroom observation, conducted either by the Chair or a representative from the Centre for Learning and Teaching with reasonable advance notice.

All offers of employment as a part-time academic are conditional upon sufficient student enrolment in the course and approval by the University.
