ABOUT YOUR ROLE
We’re seeking a Manager / Senior Manager to partner with key stakeholders and peers to support and engage with our powerful networks of people, opportunities, and investments. Reporting to the Senior Director, Portfolio Management (“PM”), Infrastructure and Private Equity, the Manager / Senior Manager, PM is responsible for portfolio management and analytical support primarily for the Private Equity investment team. He (she) will be a key contributor to the portfolio monitoring evolution, leading projects, actively engage in asset management / strategic portfolio management, ensure coordination with internal business partners and manage part of the team.
As a Manager / Senior Manager, Portfolio Management, Infrastructure and Private Equity, you will:
- Contribute and support portfolio analytics and reporting (incl. data collection) activities to ensure continuous evolvement in a fast-changing environment
- Act as a key contributor to the Private Equity and/or Infrastructure Capital Planning process
- Oversee complex financial models to assist in portfolio construction so the Private Equity and/or Infrastructure groups can successfully achieve their mandate
- Contribute to the preparation of the quarterly and annual portfolio and management reporting such as the Scorecard, Quarterly Portfolio Review, Investment Summary Report (DOA), EMR, Annual Report, etc. and provide portfolio value-add insights to the Senior Leadership while ensuring highest quality standards
- Coordinate the Private Equity quarterly valuation processes
- Build key internal relationships to work effectively on any portfolio-related matters and ensure coordination with internal business partners so the team continues to be recognized as being insightful and responsive
- Support strategic initiatives or corporate projects and participate in working groups or committees, as required
- Lead, engage and develop resources and foster a highly collaborative culture
- Act as back-up to the Senior Director
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or related fields
- Master’s degree in a relevant field, an asset
- CFA, CAIA, or other professional designation or enrollment in the program, an asset
- A minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years of related working experience in finance with strong financial modeling skills (Excel)
- Familiar with alternative asset class concepts such as Private Equity/Infrastructure
- Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment (with often changing priorities) with a high level of autonomy
- Strong analytical thinker, result-oriented and excellent interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail with a rigorous approach to research, analysis and documentation
- Experience interacting with senior management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and PowerBI (an asset), and iLevel (an asset)
- Bilingualism: English and French, written and spoken (Frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
