ABOUT THE ROLE
Compensation Range
$62,300 - $90,000
Purpose
This is a Finance position responsible for overseeing and providing direct supervision to oversee all functions of inventory control the inventory control supervisors responsible for leading the receiving and management of inventory within our production facility. This role is responsible for a critical function that ensures continuity of our operations and on time delivery for our customers. As a working-supervisor the incumbent will be required to support these departments in performing and reviewing quarterly cycle counts; investigating inventory outs; performing and overseeing all Quality Assurance (QA) functions in accordance with Sysco food safety standards and various customer specific standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory control systems, ensuring proper tracking, documentation, and physical counts.
- Monitor inventory accuracy, KPIs, and transaction integrity; investigate variances and implement corrective actions.
- Plan and execute cycle counts and physical inventories, including root cause analysis for discrepancies.
- Manage inventory adjustments, product transfers, returns (RTV), recalls, and disposition of damaged or unsellable goods.
- Oversee warehouse inventory processes including rotation, freshness, and damage control to minimize shrink and spoilage.
- Supervise, hire, train, schedule, and coach inventory control staff.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment across departments.
- Partner with Operations, Finance, Merchandising, and Transportation to ensure inventory alignment and service levels.
- Support logistics operations, inventory planning, and warehouse flow improvements.
- Manage driver check-in processes, delivery reconciliation, and cash handling procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, FAMM standards, HACCP, and all applicable regulations.
- Support food safety, quality assurance, and audit processes (including third-party audits).
- Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring hazards and incidents are reported and addressed promptly.
- Develop and execute action plans to improve inventory accuracy, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Identify process improvements and support capacity and product allocation planning.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of warehouse, inventory control, QA, or related experience, preferably in food distribution.
- Experience in a leadership capacity preferred.
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Powerpoint.
- Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems preferred.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to multitask, prioritize and organize to execute to completion and meet deadlines.
- Can effectively collaborate with all levels of staff.
- D-Tech experience an asset.
