The PLC offers both inpatient and outpatient services to a variety of medical, surgical, pediatric and women's health patients. The Medicine Portfolio provides health services to a variety of patients with complex medical issues in accordance with best practice and accreditation standards. This passionate group of health care leaders is seeking a quality improvement expert who is familiar with acute care service delivery and brings with them a toolkit to support us on our continuous improvement journey. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic leadership team which is always entertaining new and creative solutions, utilizes a quality and safety lens to monitor and overcome challenges, enjoys large-scale collaboration with a variety of stakeholders, and engages in ongoing professional learning and development. Reporting to the Manager, the Medicine Portfolio Quality Lead is a key leadership role supporting the goals and strategic direction of the medicine portfolio and PLC.
Description:
The Medicine Portfolio Quality Lead (QL) is responsible for collaboratively improving patient and staff safety, quality and experience outcomes by understanding performance metrics, identification of improvement opportunities, and leadership of quality projects and initiatives in order to successfully achieve strategic goals for the portfolio and foster a culture of continuous quality improvement (QI). The QL is a subject matter expert in QI, change management and program evaluation. This position reports to a Manager in the Medicine Portfolio, who will provide guidance and support regarding quality initiatives in the portfolio. The encumbent will be accountable for ensuring a collaborative approach with all managers in the portfolio to gather input, obtain the broader perspective, and garner support.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a health care discipline, business, administration, or leadership. If degree is in a health care discipline, candidate is required to be in good standing with their professional college/regulatory body. Quality/ process improvement certification equivalent to AIW or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years experience working in or with (supporting) acute health care required. Minimum of 3 years experience in applying quality/process improvement methodologies and project management. Demonstrated leadership and group facilitation skills, innovation, strategic planning and expertise in QI methodology. Strength in negotiating and influencing complex socio-political environments to build and sustain successful partnerships with broad stakeholder groups. Proven ability to work independently with guidance being required in only the most complex situations. Demonstrated excellence in problem-solving, conflict resolution and communication. Advanced computer software knowledge and skills related to databases, spreadsheets/pivot charts and tables, flow charts, process mapping, data analysis, word processing and other related applications. Clear pattern of personal and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a health care discipline, business, administration, or leadership. Professional level QI toolkit and associated body of knowledge, process skills and tools (certification equivalent to AIW or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt). Change management certification (i.e. Prosci). Project management certification (i.e. PMP). Previous work experience in roles with Quality Management and Program Evaluation an asset. Experience with Tableau and RedCAP an asset.
