Plant Manager - Injection Molding Packaging Manufacturer
About the role
George Thomas has partnered with a global player in the rigid plastic packaging industry with multiple manufacturing facilities across North America
They are looking to onboard a Plant Manager for their facility in the Greater Toronto region.
You will be dedicated to creating high-performance teams and enhancing plant operations utilizing lean methodologies.
How Will You Add Value to the Team
Oversee daily operations in molding, assembly, quality, maintenance, and safety. Achieve or exceed production goals for safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Maintain compliance with safety protocols and OSHA standards. Implement lean manufacturing and Six Sigma to promote efficiency and reduce waste. Collaborate with engineering and materials teams to introduce new products and technologies. Lead planning and investments for capacity and infrastructure enhancements. Recruit, train, and mentor staff, fostering a collaborative and engaged culture. Ensure effective staffing, development, and succession planning. Promote accountability and recognition throughout all levels. Manage a plant budget and analyze costs for labor, materials, and overhead to enhance financial performance.
To be Successful in this Role You Will Require
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field required. 10+ years of experience in plant or operations and 5+ years in plant or ops leadership positions. Proven success managing packaging or plastics manufacturing preferably in plastic injection molding Strong understanding of production processes and operational technologies. Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
