About the role
Are you a newly graduated Nursing student looking to gain some experience in a fun and rewarding environment? Do you have a passion for helping others? Jealous Fruits is seeking a Registered Nurse to support the over 1000 Temporary Foreign Workers with direct nursing care and personal support as required. This role will work closely to provide care to the temporary foreign workers as well as assist with ESRTW and general wellness initiatives. Duties and Responsibilities With a large amount of seasonal workers not from Canada, having a professional nurse on site a few days per week allows for our workers to get general health and wellness advice to assist in their transition and help them enjoy their stay in Canada. This role is a great way to gain experience in wellness nursing practices as most of your days will be advising and assisting workers with general health and wellness and advising when the concerns should be elevated to seeking a physician’s appointment or walk in/hospital visit. You will also provide consistent follow-up and changes plans of care as needed and promote health related knowledge and treatment services to employees. Primarily you will ensure that our workers are comfortable in transitioning to work life in Canada, some of these workers are new to our country and we want them to feel comfortable. Deliver direct nursing care as required. Provide consistent follow-up and change plans of care as needed. Promote and provide health related knowledge and treatment services to employees. Coordinate nursing care services with the employees, physician, hospital, rehabilitation service etc. Be on call for any injuries requiring medical attention Ensure all medical paperwork is completed Qualifications: Nursing degree (RN) or diploma (LPN) from a recognized Canadian University or College or recognized equivalent A background check to pass Canadian Air Cargo Security Requirements is required. Fluency in Spanish will be considered an asset. Must have a valid Class 5 license with no limitations, drivers abstract to be provided Flexibility in shift start times (days/nights) as needed Must be a flexible team player who works well in a busy and demanding environment. Working Conditions Applicants should be aware that this is a farming environment and days off may be limited during our picking season. Rain events where workers are not working are usually busy days due to the lack of field work. This is a seasonal position running from June-September.
