Project Analyst - CIHR Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis (IMHA)

CIHR-IMHA is based at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids).

Position Description
As a key member of Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis (IMHA) team, the IMHA Project Analyst uses their training in science to inform key research and analysis tasks and prepare background materials for key projects. The Project Analyst also coordinates and performs the Institute's relevance review assessments as required and annual data validation of IMHA-relevant research.

Here's What You Get to Do:

  • Support the development of multi-institute initiatives and activities by researching and synthesizing evidence and providing analytical insights to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Perform relevance determination between CIHR Program Design and Delivery staff team and IMHA staff under the direction of IMHA leadership
  • Perform the annual validation of IMHA data provided by CIHR's Funding Analytics team under the direction of IMHA leadership
  • Collaborating with the IMHA Team, participate in planning and coordinating of projects. This may include tasks such as contributing to data gathering, analysis and other research, developing related project materials
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with relevant IMHA community members involved in the planning and execution of projects, meetings, workshops and events.
  • Participate in planning for Institute Advisory Board (IAB) meeting as needed.
  • Collaborate with the IMHA Team, participating in the development and execution of IMHA projects and activities, and support collaborations and activities with other CIHR Institutes. Support development of strategic funding opportunities
  • Contribute to Impact Assessment of institute activities and initiatives.
  • Support the IMHA Team in planning and coordinating meetings and events (including workshops, meetings, poster sessions). This may include planning tasks and developing meeting evaluations

Here's What You Need:

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in science or applied science is essential
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience required. Experience working in a team environment considered an asset.
  • Project management, analytic and excellent organizational, communication and computer skills required.
  • French language proficiency is considered an asset.
  • Flexible and adept at multi-tasking in a busy, interesting and challenging environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and to work confidently under pressure on tight deadlines.
  • May occasionally require travel and flexibility in hours of work to attend meetings and events.
  • Experience creating meeting materials and reports considered an asset.
  • Experience in setting up online meetings and events in Zoom and MS Teams considered an asset.
  • A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion objectives
