The Employment, Resource and Information Coordinator will be required to work Monday to Friday from 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Employment and Settlement Services, the Employment, Resource and Information Coordinator facilitates the resource and information functions to ensure potential job seekers are well-informed about Dixon Hall Employment services and being actively referred and engaged to become clients. This role includes direct casework, supporting clients with career development, job readiness, and skill-building through one-on-one sessions, group workshops, and referrals to online training resources. The position also involves collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure sustainable employment outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities
Client Support and Service

  • Coordinate a caseload IES and Integrated Employment Services (IES) clients by creating an Employment Action Plan (EAP) and supporting them towards sustainable employment.
  • Effectively utilize the IES CRM to manage and complete client registration and case notes and referrals to IES program after each workshop series/cohorts.
  • Develop personalized service plans addressing job search, placement, incentives, retention and training support needs for each client.
  • Conduct assessments utilizing appropriate tools to evaluate clients’ interests, skills, experience, and aptitudes to facilitate successful outcomes according to program targets.
  • Proactively engage with clients requesting services and schedule appointments using various CRM tools utilized within the IES program.
  • Perform efficiently to meet Key Performance Indicators established by management in alignment with Service System Managers’ (SSM) IES framework

Workshop and Training Coordination

  • Proactively engage with stakeholders to provide workshops and group sessions for potential clients facing employment barriers who have been out of the workforce within the Prep for IES framework.
  • Schedule and coordinate information sessions, workshops, and guest speaker events for internal and external stakeholders meeting KPIs identified by management within the IES framework.
  • Design, develop, and lead workshops on various employability skills, including critical thinking, workplace resilience, time management, communication, and more. Additionally, assist with resume development, interview techniques, and other related areas.
  • Collaborate with the Employment Services team to invite participants for group employability workshops and sessions.
  • Lead and coordinate departmental monthly calendar.

Organizational Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with the employment services delivery team, manager and other Dixon Hall staff and volunteers.
  • Actively participate in department and agency meetings and events.
  • Meet regularly with manager to discuss individual, team and employment services effectiveness.

Administration and Reporting

  • Adhere to agency and program policies and procedures.

  • Backfill tasks in the Dixon Hall Employment Services Centre as needed.

  • Obtain, report, and maintain data of key statistics including customer service data, workshop evaluations, etc.

  • Provide monthly updates on client testimonials to highlight service impact.

  • Required to meet program and funding quotas

  • Actively participate in department and agency meetings and events.

  • Collect documentation for evidence-based reporting on retention outcomes.

  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in marketing or business administration.
  • Relevant post-secondary education may be exempted by the employer if the applicant has three to four (3-4) years’ experience working with adult education in the private, government, non-governmental, or non-profit sectors designing and delivering trainings in various subjects that include but are not limited to human rights, development, employment, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of labour market conditions and systemic barriers to employment and experience delivering workshops and trainings focused on second career development and employment essentials.
  • Experience working with unemployed, underemployed, homeless and marginally housed individuals, and knowledge of the challenges facing individuals with significant barriers to entering the labour market.
  • Computer literacy utilizing MS Office applications with proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation software and search engine applications.
  • Strong interpersonal, employment coaching, negotiation, mediation, interviewing and presentation skills.
  • Sound knowledge of adult assessment, training techniques, sales presentations, and closing techniques, customer matching and marketing techniques.
  • Contacts in the business and labour communities an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written English language communication skills; fluency in additional languages, relevant to the communities of service, will be considered an asset.
  • Must be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer.
  • Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check with a ‘Clear’ or satisfactory result that meets the operational requirements of the Agency
