Hartmann Canada Inc, in Brantford, Ontario is a division of Hartmann North America. We are the world leader of moulded fibre egg cartons. The demand for moulded fibre and environmentally sustainable products is rapidly increasing. Hartmann has committed and invested in this area to meet the growing demand of our products.
We require a Maintenance Supervisor for our Brantford, Ontario location for Night Shift (8 hour shifts).
The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the shift maintenance operations with direct responsibility for the oversight of hourly employees. The position is Night Shift (11PM-7AM). Successful candidates require experience managing a team in a complex 24/7 facility, and have a track record of effective team building, KPI management and continuous improvement.
Role The Maintenance Supervisor is a crucial role to the success within the Maintenance department. Working closely with the Maintenance Manager and Operations team, the successful candidate will be expected to:
- Monitor and control the maintenance operations for maximum effective utilization of workers, equipment, facility, and materials consistent with established cost and quality standards and in compliance with Company and Legislative policies and procedures.
- Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
- Maintains preventative maintenance and making contacts with vendors for necessary repair items.
- Directs hourly workers to ensure compliance with company objectives
- Monitor production process and initiate or implement corrective measures
- Participates in program development, safety, maintaining building and grounds, and equipment installation.
- Communication skills to deal with a variety of issues in a unionized (Brantford, ON location only) manufacturing environment.
- Administer Collective Agreement (If appliable) along with company policies/procedures while resolving employee issues including progressive discipline.
Experience Required Key Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years experience in Maintenance within a manufacturing facility
- Previous experience with Supervision of skilled trades
- Experience with Automation is an asset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Skills, Abilities & Equipment Operated
- Strong change management and continuous improvement skills
- Ability to adapt in a changing technological environment
- Knowledge of ERP, CMMS and MRP systems
- Concrete experience in project management (asset)
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed as a Millwright and/or Electrician
- Degree in Industrial Relations or other relevant education and/or maintenance work experience
