Evening Shift (3:30pm - 12:00am) : $2.00/hour shift premium

Job Purpose

The position’s primary function is to provide mechanical support to the manufacturing plant and other support areas by troubleshooting and repairing equipment and systems. They create customer success by delivering the best experiences to their internal and external customers

Key Responsibilities

Follow all safety standards including PPE, Emergency Plans, and EH&S policies; identify and report unsafe acts or conditions via observation cards; and maintain 5S standards throughout your work area. Monitor for abnormalities in standard processes, machine operation, product quality, and logistics — escalating issues to your Team Leader or Supervisor promptly. Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, install, and modify mechanical systems on manual and CNC equipment; perform scheduled preventive maintenance; and complete CILR activities to meet PM OEE targets. Identify sources of contamination and difficult-access areas in your workstation and apply effective countermeasures to resolve deficiencies. Ensure all products meet quality guidelines and actively contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives. Work with supplier technical support to source, order, and schedule parts delivery — communicating effectively with external technicians as required. Maintain accurate records and data collection; prepare maintenance reports; close EWOs and work orders in a timely manner; and contribute to root cause analysis of equipment problems. Submit a minimum of six improvement suggestions annually (one every two months). Support the achievement of over-maintenance savings targets. Provide mentorship and training to team members as needed. As the need arises, operate material handling equipment including forklifts, hoists, boom lifts, and scissor lifts.

Experience Required

Grade 12 diploma or equivalent. Achieved their Journeyman license/Interprovincial Red Seal or a combination of education and related experience. Able to perform moderate physical effort consisting of continuously lifting or moving light weight material.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in reading blueprints, operator manuals (in print and online), and shop drawings Experience in maintaining and refurbishing industrial equipment in the manufacturing industry. Experience in the trouble shooting and repair of Miyano, Haas, Mazak, Fanuc machines. Experience in the trouble shooting and repair of PLC equipment. Experience in the trouble shooting and repair of powder paint lines. Basic computer knowledge and proven ability to work with Microsoft Office programs.
