Job Summary & Key Responsibilities

This Part-Time Academic will be fully responsible for the teaching, grading, and administering of one section of PERF / MUSC / THEA 4250.03 Artist as Entrepreneurs: From Concept to Creation class, from January 1 to April 30, 2027 (Winter Term 2027).

Course description

This is a business course designed for those interested in arts-led entrepreneurial ventures and self-producing theatre, music, and film events for public platforms. It is aimed at developing the preparatory skill set needed for entrepreneurial ventures and focusing on creative products, services, and performances.

The instructor will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including preparing and delivering lectures, marking student assignments, developing course content on Brightspace, and submitting grades. In addition to course time, the instructor is required to hold office hours for student consultations.

The instructor is expected to announce the end-of-term student ratings/evaluations of instruction. This position reports to the Director of the Fountain School of Performing Arts.

Qualifications/Requirements Of Position

Minimum of a Master’s degree in Music, Theatre, Film, business, or relevant field; PhD preferred. Teaching experience at the university level and evidence of teaching effectiveness.
