As a Specialist, Data Developer, you’ll be at the heart of transforming AIMCo into a truly data focused organization. You’ll partner with stakeholders across the business, translating complex needs into elegant, cutting edge BI and data solutions that unlock insights, automate processes, clarify decision making, and ensure absolute accuracy.

Your work will be pivotal in migrating our source systems to AIMCo’s modern data platform, a key step in our transformation journey.
You bring strong technical expertise in data engineering, data science & AI, BI development, investment data analysis, and a deep understanding of the financial domain. You stay ahead of industry trends in data, BI, and AI, applying innovations to continuously improve scalability, performance, and user experience in our solutions.

Your role will also include:

Responsibilities:

At AIMCo, data isn’t just numbers — it’s the lifeblood of smarter investments, sharper resolutions, and stronger outcomes. As a Specialist, Data Developer, you’ll be at the center of this transformation, partnering with stakeholders, end-users, and cross-functional teams to create powerful data products that unlock fresh insights, automate workflows, clarify complex processes, and ensure rock‑solid accuracy across the business.

You won’t just move data — you’ll engineer the entire journey:

  • Design & build sophisticated data models, pipelines, quality rules, and integration processes to acquire, transform, and store high-value investment data from multiple sources.
  • Develop optimized, cloud-native workflows that feed data warehouses and lakes, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, data architects, and business analysts to deliver scalable, business-critical solutions on cutting-edge cloud platforms.

Your impact will extend across AIMCo’s Modern Data Platform migration, helping transition legacy sources into a streamlined, future-ready ecosystem. You’ll monitor and fine-tune performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and push query optimization to the next level.

You’ll also be a trend spotter and innovator — staying ahead of developments in investment data management, analytics, AI, and financial technology, and recommending tools, frameworks, and methods that elevate our capabilities.

Key ways you’ll make a difference:

  • Translate business needs into high-impact data models that power insightful reporting and analytics.
  • Provide expert support — from root-cause analysis and debugging to training and consultation — ensuring BI tools and reports perform flawlessly.
  • Operationalize AI-assisted workflows across delivery teams, setting standards, guardrails, coding patterns, reusable prompt libraries, and measurement frameworks for productivity and quality gains.
  • Seamlessly integrate outputs into CI/CD pipelines and PR review processes, enabling faster, smarter, and more reliable delivery.

Our Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, or a related field.
  • Solid experience (5+ years) in data engineering, data science, BI development and data modelling, or a similar role, preferably within the investment industry.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages like Python, SQL, and R.
  • Excellent understanding of modern big data technologies including data lakes and data warehouses with knowledge of the underlying architecture
  • Proven experience designing BI solutions from design to CI/CD deployment
  • In-depth knowledge of investment data sources, such as market data feeds, trading platforms, and financial databases.
  • Familiarity with investment analytics concepts, including portfolio analysis, risk assessment, and performance attribution.
  • Experience with ETL tools, data integration platforms, and data visualization tools.
  • Proven experience of working with cloud-based system
  • Strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases, data modeling, and query optimization.
  • Knowledge of investment regulations, compliance requirements, and data privacy regulations in the investment industry.
  • AI-assisted development experience in data engineering: Proven experience using code assistants such as GitHub Copilot and/or Claude/Claude Code (or similar) to build and maintain data pipelines, transformations, and data quality/observability artifacts, while applying strong validation and review practices.
