Job Title:
Release Train Engineer (Agile coach)
Job Description A Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a servant leader and Agile coach responsible for orchestrating the Agile Release Train (ART)—a team of Agile teams working together to deliver value. The RTE ensures alignment across teams, facilitates key SAFe ceremonies, removes impediments, and drives continuous improvement.
🎓 Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Proven experience in Agile delivery and SAFe environments.
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and servant leadership capabilities.
- Deep understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills.
- 3-5 years of experience
- Advanced English, Spanish is a plus
Preferred:
- SAFe Release Train Engineer certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in software development or Agile project management.
🔧 Core Responsibilities
- Agile Release Train Leadership
- Facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt workshops.
- Ensure readiness across teams and alignment with business goals.
- Track ART progress, manage risks, and resolve dependencies using tools like Kanban and ROAM.
- Coaching & Facilitation
- Mentor Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Agile teams in Lean-Agile practices.
- Promote self-organization, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Lead problem-solving sessions and foster decision-making autonomy.
- Flow Optimization & Delivery
- Establish ART Kanban systems and monitor flow metrics (e.g., flow time, predictability).
- Support DevOps practices and continuous delivery pipelines.
- Conduct value stream mapping to identify and eliminate bottlenecks.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a liaison between ART teams and business stakeholders.
- Ensure transparency on PI objectives, progress, and risks.
- Support Lean budgeting and help business owners with economic decision-making.
📊 Metrics & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor ART health using flow metrics and performance indicators.
- Facilitate Inspect & Adapt workshops to drive team retrospectives and process enhancements.
- Encourage experimentation and feedback loops for ongoing learning.
