Assess potential institutional, business or individual client markets Calculate premiums Establish client insurance coverage Establish method of payment Identify potential markets Ensure appropriate forms, medical examinations and other policy requirements are completed Monitor insurance claims and respond to clients' enquiries Provide customer service Provide information concerning group and individual insurance packages, the range of risk coverage, benefits paid and other policy features Sell automobile, fire, health, life, property, marine, aircraft and other types of insurance
Requirements Must have Bachelor’s degree in any field. Must have 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the same or a related field. Must have Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) license. Experience in insurance, including property/casualty insurance, commercial insurance, individual insurance, and group insurance. Familiarity with automobile insurance, fire insurance, house insurance, tenant insurance, and travel insurance products is required. Must be bond-able and able to successfully pass a driving record check (abstract), credit check, and criminal record check. Must be willing to work in an office building setup. Must be willing to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and under pressure, with strong attention to detail, and be able to perform work involving sitting as well as a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. Must demonstrate strong personal suitability including client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, sound judgment, strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to work as a team player. Must be able to communicate in English. Must have access to own tools and equipment, including a computer, printer, internet access, and a cellular phone. Must have access to a personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license. Willingness to travel is required.
