A Day in the Life of an Intermediate Accountant at RWC!
Be part of designing your community! From the bustling downtown core all the way to Northern British Columbia you will be championing accounting processes at our head office. Our previous and current locations include Amazon HQ, YVR Airport, University of British Columbia, Parq Casino, Emily Carr University, St. Paul’s Hospital and many more! An Intermediate Accountant’s Day is a steady mix of keeping the numbers in line and supporting the bigger picture, it’s a balance of detailed work and teamwork that keeps the company’s finances running smoothly.
Primary Responsibilities

Spearhead monthly general ledger reconciliation including balance sheet accounts (accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, prepaids), bank statements and general ledger accounts.

Maintain the company's fixed asset register and process depreciation, and fixed asset disposals.

Full cycle accounting including month-end close.

Provide support for year-end audit activities.

Support budget and forecasting processes.

Prepare quarterly and annual government fillings such as PST, GST.

Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve requests from operational teams by adhering to accounting and business policies.

Support the accounts receivable process.

Support the payroll team on an ad-hoc basis.

Assist with ad-hoc projects and other duties as required
Skills and Qualifications
-
Required 5+ years of accounting experience in a similar role.

Successful completion or pursuing a university degree or diploma in accounting.

Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation considered an asset.

Commitment to continuous improvement and taking on new projects.

Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Self-motivated and the ability to work within a team setting.

Able to multi-task with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
