What role you will play in our team
As a Pipefitter / Boilermaker / Welder / Gasfitter at Imperial Oil Sarnia Site, you will be working within the site mechanical department whose role is to execute routine and turnaround maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operation of site processing equipment.
This a two-year fixed term position.
What You Will Do
- Utilizing approved standards to facilitate maintenance and repairs to pressure vessels, heat exchangers, furnaces, boilers, piping and structures.
- Interpreting drawings for layout, fabrication & installation of piping equipment.
- Preparing isometric drawings from field measurements for shop & fabrication of piping systems and fabricating piping systems.
- Setting up and operating shop & field welding equipment.
- Perform welding on carbon steel, stainless steel and chrome piping systems utilizing a variety of techniques.
- Performing rigging and hoisting activities.
- Troubleshooting and execution of cross trade tasks based on capability and experience.
- Execution of all work consistent with an "all injuries and incidents can be prevented" work ethic.
- Repair reporting and documentation.
About You Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is minimum requirement.
- Must have Journey Person Pipefitter ticket or Certified Red Seal Interprovincial Pipefitter, or
- Red Seal Boilermaker Certification, or
- Red Seal Gasfitter Class A / Class 1 Red Seal Certification
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have a minimum of five years relevant experience, preferably with refinery knowledge or background.
- Capable of climbing, lifting & other physical activities for specific periods of time.
- Able to clearly communicate with others both written & verbally.
- Able to react/respond safely to stress related work activities/emergencies.
- Effectively manage time and priorities.
