Job Reports To: Manager, System Administrator & BI

Key Activities

Reporting to the Manager, System Administrator & BI, the selected candidate is responsible for financial analysis and internal reporting, preparation of bank reconciliations, including supporting the full cycle accounting and audit of the National Arts Centre Corporate and Foundation. In addition, the role provides support for the administration and continuous improvement of financial systems, including Sparkrock 365, Power BI, and other enterprise platforms, to ensure accurate data flow, streamlined processes, and timely reporting. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with system acumen to drive data-informed decision-making and process improvements across departments.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

System Administration & Business Intelligence

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support financial and operational decision-making;

  • Provide technical support and training to end users on Sparkrock modules and BI tools;

  • Maintain users permissions and security roles in Business Central and related applications;

  • Collaborate with finance team and departments users to automate reporting, budgeting, and workflow processes;

  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and escalate to Sparkrock support when necessary;

  • Lead or support version upgrades, module rollouts, and testing of customizations;

  • Create and maintain documentation for system processes, customizations, and integrations;

  • Support the maintenance of the chart of accounts and other accounting dimensions;

  • Monitor data quality and resolve any issues in collaboration with data owners.

Reporting & Financial Analysis

  • Assist in preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual internal financial reports to support senior leadership decision-making and stakeholder communications;
  • Preparation of bank reconciliations;
  • Support of the full cycle accounting and audit of the National Arts Centre Corporation and Foundation;
  • Respond to ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requests from the NAC Foundation and the NAC Corporation leadership and stakeholders;
  • Undertake additional tasks or special projects for the NAC Foundation and the NAC Corporation as assigned by management to support evolving business needs.

Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or business administration;
  • Professional accounting designation or equivalent is an asset;
  • Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience in a similar position or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Fluently bilingual in both official languages is an asset;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other software;
  • Skilled in VBA for automating journal entry templates and data processing;
  • Proficient with Dynamics 365 Business Central and Power BI or equivalent;
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to details;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to build relationships across different teams;
  • Ability to work under pressure and with a team and problem solving skills;
  • Good organizational skills and initiative.
