ECOMMERCE MANAGER (Shopify / DTC) – Retrokid Inc. Role Overview We are seeking a strategic, analytical, and results-driven Ecommerce Manager to lead the development, optimization, and growth of our direct-to-consumer (DTC) Shopify platform. Reporting to the Marketing Director, this role owns the end-to-end ecommerce experience—from storefront strategy and daily operations to performance optimization, customer experience, and revenue growth. You will act as the central connector across Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, and external partners, ensuring a seamless, high-converting digital customer journey while delivering measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities

Ecommerce Strategy & Platform Management Own and execute the ecommerce roadmap to achieve traffic, conversion, and revenue targets Manage day-to-day Shopify operations, ensuring uptime, site speed, mobile optimization, and seamless navigation Lead storefront design, product setup/migration, site architecture, and navigation improvements Ensure all platform integrations, tools, and workflows are stable, scalable, and aligned with business goals Maintain accurate product data, pricing, categorization, and merchandising standards Digital Merchandising & Customer Journey Develop and execute merchandising strategies to improve conversion, average order value (AOV), and profitability Manage assortment, pricing, promotions, and seasonal campaigns aligned with brand strategy Optimize the customer journey from homepage to checkout using UX/UI best practices Implement A/B testing, personalization, bundling, and upsell strategies Ensure consistent brand storytelling, content quality, and SEO optimization across the site Performance & Analytics Own ecommerce KPIs including conversion rate, traffic, AOV, ROAS, CAC, LTV, return rate, and profitability Analyze performance data and translate insights into actionable strategies Build and manage weekly/monthly dashboards and reporting Identify root causes of performance issues and implement data-driven optimizations Digital Marketing & Growth Partner with Marketing to drive traffic, acquisition, and retention across SEO, SEM, paid media, email, SMS, and affiliates Align with performance marketing agencies and external partners to maximize ROI and campaign effectiveness Plan and execute product launches, promotions, and online-exclusive initiatives Test new growth initiatives such as subscriptions, bundles, and new channel strategies Customer Experience & Optimization Continuously enhance the end-to-end customer experience across digital touchpoints Implement tools such as chat, loyalty programs, and personalization engines to improve engagement and retention Partner with Customer Experience teams to monitor feedback and resolve issues Support omnichannel strategies to ensure a seamless online-to-offline experience Operations, Inventory & Financial Alignment Collaborate with Operations and Logistics to ensure inventory accuracy, availability, and fulfillment efficiency Forecast sales and support SKU-level planning to align inventory with demand Optimize returns and exchange processes Partner with Finance on sales reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and ecommerce P&L management Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, IT) to execute campaigns and initiatives Manage external vendors, agencies, and freelancers across development, CRM, and marketing Lead projects, document processes, and ensure consistent execution across workflows Key Requirements

Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Ecommerce, or related field 4–6+ years of ecommerce experience with a strong focus on Shopify or Shopify Plus Proven success driving DTC growth, conversion optimization, and revenue performance Technical & Analytical Skills Deep Shopify expertise (backend operations, apps, integrations, troubleshooting) Strong command of analytics tools (e.g., GA4, BI platforms like Looker) Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/Liquid is an asset Experience with ecommerce tools (email/SMS platforms, loyalty programs, A/B testing tools) Core Competencies Strong strategic thinking with hands-on execution capability Deep understanding of UX/UI, CRO, SEO, and digital merchandising Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate insights into action Excellent project management, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills Customer-obsessed with a strong understanding of online behavior and trends Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment Availability to respond to issues and crises outside typical business hours. Must be able to travel to Pickering, Ontario at least 3 days per week. Nice-to-Have Experience in consumer goods, beauty, or lifestyle brands Certifications (Google Analytics, Shopify, Data Analytics, etc.) Experience managing budgets, P&L, and vendor relationships Graphic design background and experience
