About the role

Senior Financial Reporting Manager

Reporting to the Controller, theSenior Financial Reporting Manageris responsible for end-to-end financial reporting, month end close coordination, multi entity consolidation, IFRS-compliant financial statements, and management reporting.

What will you do?

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

  • Lead and coordinate the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for all affiliated companies.
  • Review working papers, reconciliations, journal entries, consolidation and reporting schedules.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial results across all legal entities.
  • Prepare IFRS-compliant financial statements, statutory filings, and Board level reporting packages.
  • Maintain close calendars, templates, and standardized reporting processes.

IFRS Technical Integration

  • Ensure proper application of IFRS standards.
  • Translate actuarial and IFRS 17 outputs (CSM, risk adjustment, actuarial valuations) into financial reporting.
  • Validate alignment between actuarial data, subledger outputs, and general ledger balances.
  • Prepare reporting inputs for IFRS disclosures and support Group reporting and audit requirements.

Management Reporting & Performance Insights

  • Prepare monthly management reporting dashboards including commentary focused on financial statement results.
  • Provide financial variance commentary related to accounting movements (e.g. timing differences, accruals, reclassifications).
  • Ensure consistency, completeness, and accuracy of results across entity-level and consolidated reporting views.

Multi Entity Consolidations & Group Reporting

  • Prepare consolidation entries, intercompany eliminations, and multi-entity reconciliations.
  • Support group reporting requirements under IFRS and German GAAP (HGB) frameworks.
  • Ensure consistency in reporting across entities, products, and accounting frameworks.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Group Accounting at the parent company.

Audit, Compliance & Internal Countrols

  • Prepare audit working papers, documentation, supporting analyses, and responses to audit queries.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and strengthen financial governance processes.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors on reporting matters.

Cross Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, claims, operations, and IT to ensure accurate, complete, and business-aligned financial reporting.
  • Resolve discrepancies in operational and financial information.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives impacting data flows and reporting accuracy.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate reporting processes and templates.
  • Support system enhancements and data quality initiatives tied to reporting, including alignment across IFRS, HGB, and Canadian GAAP requirements.

About You:

  • CPA (or equivalent international accounting) designation required.
  • +7 years of experience in financial reporting in insurance-related finance roles.
  • Experience with IFRS 17 implementation and ongoing application required.
  • Deep expertise in IFRS standards, especially in IFRS 17 and IFRS 9.
  • Experience in multi-entity consolidation with German GAAP (HGB) is considered a strong asset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with BI tools is required.
  • Proficiency in SAP is considered a strong asset.
  • Aptitude for figures, strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and adhere to challenging deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with internal stakeholders, clients and management.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, a high degree of conscientiousness.
