Role: Software Engineer
Location: Montreal; Hybrid 3 days a week in office Contract: Long Term
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineer with strong expertise in Core Java, Apache Spark, Python, SQL, and Linux to design, develop, and support scalable server-side applications and analytical data processing systems. Key Responsibilit
ies- Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance, scalable server-side applications using Core Java and Pyth on.- Build and optimize large-scale data processing solutions using Apache Spa rk.- Develop and maintain database solutions, write complex SQL queries, and optimize database performan ce.- Design and integrate analytical systems to process and analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured da ta.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, architects, data engineers, and QA teams to deliver robust solutio ns.- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and system performance issu es.- Work in Linux environments for application deployment, monitoring, and support activiti es.- Participate in application architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisio ns.- Ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and software development best practic es.- Support CI/CD processes and application lifecycle manageme
nt.
Required Skills & Qualificat
ions- 5–10 years of hands-on experience in software development and analytical system integrat ion.- Strong programming expertise in Core J ava.- Hands-on experience with Apache Spark for distributed data process ing.- Strong development experience in Pyt hon.- Proficiency in SQL and relational databa ses.- Strong working knowledge of Linux/Unix operating syst ems.- Experience in application/server-side development and microservices-based architectu res.- Experience designing, building, and integrating analytical and data processing syst ems.- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design principles, and multithread ing.- Experience with RESTful APIs and system integrat ion.- Excellent problem-solving and debugging ski
lls.
Preferred Qualifica
tions- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.- Knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem technolo gies.- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubern etes.- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevOps pract ices.- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environm
