Business Systems Analyst – Contract Opportunity
Our clients, leading financial institutions in Toronto, are seeking experienced Senior Business Analysts and Business Systems Analysts for multiple contract opportunities. These roles will support technology transformation, software implementation, system integration, business process improvement, and Capital Markets initiatives. Successful candidates will work closely with business, technology, operations, risk, compliance, and project teams to deliver scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities: Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements Prepare user stories, BRDs, FRDs, process maps, workflows, and acceptance criteria Assess current-state processes and develop future-state solutions Support software and SaaS implementations Coordinate integrations with internal, external, vendor, or counterparty systems Create data mappings and validate data transformations Support UAT planning, test execution, defect resolution, and implementation Investigate production issues and complete impact assessments Collaborate with product owners, developers, architects, QA, and business stakeholders Support trade processing and Capital Markets technology initiatives where applicable
Must-Have Qualifications: 4–5+ years of Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst experience Strong requirements-gathering and documentation experience Business process mapping and workflow-development experience Experience supporting software, SaaS, or technology implementations Experience working on complex business and system processes Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills Ability to independently manage deadlines and project deliverables Bachelor’s degree Comfortable working in a hybrid or onsite environment in Toronto
For Capital Markets Opportunities, candidates should also have: Financial-services or Capital Markets experience OTC derivatives and trade-lifecycle knowledge Strong SQL and Excel skills Data mapping and transformation-validation experience UAT, test-scenario, and acceptance-criteria experience
Nice-to-Have Skills: Lucidchart or similar workflow tools REST APIs, JSON, FIX, or FpML Murex or Calypso Python Tableau, Power BI, or other data-visualization tools Agile, Scrum, or Kanban experience Regulatory-reporting knowledge Business Analysis certification or designation
These are initial contract opportunities with potential for extension or conversion to permanent employment.
