Generic Job Description (not Job Level specific): Analytical Engineers / Architects include both general analysis and failure analysis activities. Failure analysis engineers use special tooling to modulate electrical and optical stimulus on material that can be delayered or modified to facilitate understanding of phenomena at the device and even atomic levels. Analytical Engineers establish a framework of investigation or design of experiments to characterize and assess the behavior of devices in normal operation or when they exhibit artifacts that were not expected from the design. This design of experiments may include failure analysis but is not limited to it. The goal of Analytical engineering is to fully understand true root cause of any artifact.
