Compensation Details

  • Marketing Generalist 18 : Salaries typically range from $94,664 to $126,219 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.

Location:

  • Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week. (subject to change)
  • This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa.
  • Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

Team Overview As part of the Chief Operating Officer’s (COO) group, the Marketing Strategy and Effectiveness (MSE) team is seeking a Marketing Business Partner for the Indo-Pacific region. The MSE team supports the needs of our Brand, Demand Generation, Customer Experience, Customer Analytics, Martech and Web Experience teams who deliver on initiatives that support EDC’s strategy. The Business Partner roles within the team act as liaisons between marketers and internal stakeholders at EDC that lead the various strategic portfolios, one of them being the EDC Indo-Pacific Strategy.

What You Will Be Doing We’re seeking an experienced senior marketer to develop and lead the marketing strategy for the Indo-Pacific region, driving growth in alignment with EDC’s regional priorities. As the marketing subject matter expert, you’ll collaborate with domestic and international stakeholders to strengthen EDC’s brand, generate demand, and support trade partners in accelerating Canadian trade and investment in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regional Strategy & Planning - Develop and lead the execution of a tailored marketing strategy for Indo-Pacific region, ensuring alignment with EDC’s goals and global marketing initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration - Act as the main marketing liaison between Indo-Pacific stakeholders, the central Marketing team, agencies and trade ecosystem partners, fostering strong, trust-based relationships and ensuring regional needs are represented. This includes acting as the Marketing subject matter expert, helping build stakeholder awareness of EDC priorities and understanding of marketing best practices to achieve their objectives.
  • Campaign and Marketing Initiative Development & Execution - Partner with internal teams to design and implement integrated marketing campaigns and Marketing initiatives ensuring they are relevant and impactful for the Indo-Pacific target audience. This includes creating messaging and communications for customers and partners, generating content for campaigns, the web, social media, corporate reports and networking events.
  • Performance Measurement - Track and analyze campaign and Marketing initiative performance, providing actionable insights to optimize future initiatives and demonstrate marketing impact.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination - Collaborate with Product, Frontlines, Communications, Agencies of Record and other teams to ensure cohesive messaging and strategic alignment across all touchpoints.
  • Market Intelligence - Stay informed on regional market trends, customer insights, and competitive activity to inform marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Budget Management - Manage regional marketing budgets effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
  • Brand Stewardship - Ensure all marketing activities adhere to brand guidelines while adapting messaging to resonate with local audiences.

What We Are Looking For

  • Undergraduate or advanced degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or a related field, establishing a solid academic foundation for strategic marketing leadership.
  • Demonstrates 5+ years of experience with a strong emphasis on marketing strategy, field, regional, and partner marketing—bringing a consultative and results-driven approach to marketing execution.
  • A seasoned senior marketing generalist with deep knowledge across all core marketing disciplines, including brand development, lead generation, digital marketing, and communications.
  • Proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Analytical mindset with experience using data to drive decisions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrates experience working with Canadian government departments in the trade ecosystem.
  • Demonstrates exceptional ability to communicate effectively across diverse cultural contexts, fostering collaboration and understanding in global teams, partner networks, and customer engagements.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours. At times you will be expected to participate remotely in meetings held outside of the eastern standard time zone. (e.g. evenings or early mornings)
