The Role

We are currently searching for an Assistant Supervisor, Operations reporting to the Manager, DC Operations. This vacancy is a full-time, permanent opportunity. For this role, you will require the flexibility to work a scheduled shift between Monday and Friday; mainly supervising day and afternoon operations. Occasional weekends maybe required.

Onsite at the Barrie Cross-Dock

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supervise the day-to-day activities within a busy unionized Distribution Centre environment
  • Training of new and existing employees and performance management
  • Ensure that customer service targets and goals are successfully met
  • Ensure the company’s Health and Safety, Operational and Budgetary efficiencies are met
  • Exemplify the Company’s dedication to customer service
  • Other responsibilities involve Inventory, Fleet and Warehouse Management, Quality Control and Audit compliance
  • Assist with balancing full goods inventory, empty inventories, and financial records. Maintaining accurate records of shipments received, return of full goods to brewers, ensuring correctness of information entered to the system
  • Administer the Human Resources functions of the office within the parameters of Company policy, including assisting with payroll administration, and lost time prevention
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned

Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Post-secondary education considered an asset

Experience

  • A minimum of 1 - 3 years of operations/warehouse experience required
  • Previous experience with SAP is considered an asset

Skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • The ability to make sound decisions in a timely fashion
  • Proven leadership ability to effectively manage the team of direct reports
  • Above average communication and interpersonal skills
  • A professional, courteous, and welcoming manner – both in person and on the telephone
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety, Ministry of Transportation and WSIB regulations would be an asset

Compensation

The hiring range for this position is $52,700 -$65,900 CAD per year. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
