Job Description

• Participating in design of water and/or wastewater processes for a variety of infrastructure projects through preparation of design calculations and equipment selection and cost estimating

• Develop and utilize design tools (e.g. InfoWater Pro, Biowin, WaterCAD, PCSWMM, etc.) to support planning and optimization projects

• Prepare sketches, renderings, technical figures, and calculations for engineering reports and presentations as required

• Document, track, and address design comments and drawing markups

• Verifying compliance of drawings with appropriate standards, codes, and guidelines

• Participate in the preparation of engineering specifications, calculations, and permit applications

• Assist in facility inspections

• Carry out planning or problem solving for water and wastewater systems

• Technical report writing

• Proposal preparation support, as required

• Site inspection, as required

• Carry out research assignments, as required

• Provide technical assistance to staff, as required

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Skilled in Microsoft Suite software, Project, Bluebeam, Adobe, and Visio

• Experience in the water or wastewater industry (asset)

• Understanding of construction drawings

• Technical report writing skills

• Experience carrying out quantity and cost assessments (asset)

• Unrestricted Driver Licence

• Own Transportation Required

Additional Information

The salary for this position ranges from $23.75 to $29.40 per hour, depending on your academic profile, the number of credits earned, and your previous co-op or internship experience. The final offer and salary may be adjusted based on your unique profile.
