About the role

PCB Assembly Task Area Supervisor - Onsite Position - 3:30pm to 12:00 midnight

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Task Area Supervisor has a responsibility to ensure compliance with company standards while driving efficiency and productivity.

Ensures daily / weekly targets are met and that the Team has the right tools, processes, training and resources to effectively manage and assemble the large variety of Curtiss-Wright’s PWBs.

Salary Range: $67,900 - $86,750 plus bonus opportunity plus 10% shift premium

Your Challenge

  • Responsible and accountable for monitoring and coordinating the day-to-day SMT, 1st & 2nd Stage and related activities to maximize resources and product deliveries on time and within budget
  • Resolve transaction issues that have caused negative material consumption
  • Complete all logs, reports and other data as defined by Production Manager
  • Actively pursue and enhance good working relationships with other Task Area Supervisors (Internal Customer and Supplier relationships)
  • As a means of keeping communication lines open between the two shifts, practice face-to-face exchanges on a daily basis
  • Lead the daily SMT, 1st and 2nd Stage Tier 1 meetings, follow up with any needed actions
  • Conduct One on Ones with your team members
  • Work with the Production Manager to assess performance. Plan and monitor individual performance of team members by means of feedback calendars and employee reviews
  • Hold weekly Quality meetings with your team
  • Participate in the CW Way Lean training program to enable your team to drive Lean Improvements at SMT, 1st and 2nd Stage
  • Using Lean thinking, working with Process Engineering and Management to bring best in class activities, to improve process performance, reduction of costs, improve efficiency and increase quality to completion
  • Help provide on the job training and mentoring for your team
  • May contribute as a member of the Spill team and/or Health and Safety committee. Ensures all Safety and operating procedures are followed
  • Participate in and as required, conduct Continuous Improvement Team meetings that help drive the area and business forward

What You Bring

  • Community College Technical Diploma or equivalent education and work experience with a minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on manufacturing experience
  • Preference given to individuals with 3-5 years’ working Leadership experience (not necessarily in SMT) with a minimum of 3 years hands-on work experience on SMT equipment running and organizing day-to-day production requirements as well as 1st and 2nd Stage
  • A focused individual with demonstrated ability and experience within a low volume high mix PWB assembly environment to minimize downtime and maximize output
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and respond quickly to changes in the build schedule is required
  • Good working knowledge of an ERP system
  • SAP knowledge is a definite asset
  • Can clearly convey information, expectations and feedback, both verbally and in writing
  • Can handle conflicts constructively by mediating disputes and helping team members find common ground
  • Can inspire and motivate their team to achieve goals
  • Adaptable. Can easily adjust to changing circumstances and challenges
  • Strong time management skills – understands how to prioritize tasks and manage their time efficiently, ensuring that deadlines are met and resources are utilized optimally
  • Can foster a sense of teamwork and collaboration among team members
  • Can build strong relationships and create a supportive work environment
  • Decisive and can make informed choices that benefit the team and the organization
