This job offers the opportunity to work from home as part of a hybrid work arrangement. This arrangement will allow you to work some days at a TCHC work location and the rest of the time from home. The amount of time required to work at a TCHC work location is flexible, while considering operational and service delivery requirements.
Make a difference
Reporting to the Manager of Business Intelligence within the ITS department of TCHC, the Quality Assurance Data Specialist supports both existing business software systems and develops new ones, as authorized by client business groups through ITS management. This position is involved in all areas of BI systems development, from business concept to implementation, and will assist the BI team to build out the new BI corporate analytics, reporting, and dashboards using Power BI. The Quality Assurance Data Specialist will provide data quality assurance as well as BI validation.
What you'll do
- Analyze systems requirements, use cases, architecture and design documents to gain overall understanding of the new solution to determine the appropriate level of Quality Assurance testing required.
- Develop Test Plans and Test Cases, Test Scripts, Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM).
- Configure Test Environments and create Test Data.
- Perform thorough and accurate testing and provide approvals during Data Warehouse development, integration, release, regression and maintenance phases to ensure that software deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.
- Execute black/white/integration testing, exploratory/heuristic, end-to-end, and any other testing approaches necessary to ensure effective test coverage.
- Analyze test results and document defects as part of the defect-tracking framework.
- Analyze issues reported through incident and problem management workflows, determine root causes, and provide detailed reports. Provide enhancement suggestions to development team;
- Remain up to date with testing technologies/methodologies, QA industry standards, principles and practices.
- Partner with management to enhance quality and process standards to ensure on-time, efficient and high-quality QA results
- Responsible for reviewing statistics to help TCHC make better business decisions.
- Collect statistical analyses of data.
- Design data administrative policy;
- Create test cases and execute them.
- Deliver daily defect reports with up-to-date information.
- Validate resolved issue/defects.
- Create and maintain up to date test results.
- Support business resources in data validation activities, if needed.
What you'll need
- University degree in computer science or a relevant technical discipline.
- 7 years’ experience performing data quality assurance work in data warehouse environment
- 5 years of proven experience in developing QA test scripts in data warehouse environment with execution and analysis
- 7 years of experience in data warehousing, analytics, ETL and dimension modeling
Preferred experience:
- 5 years of experience in data management, data migration, data cleansing and synchronization
- 5 years of experience in working with business clients directly by consulting with them to gather requirements to deliver projects
- 3 – 5 years of experience with master data management
- 3 – 5 years of experience working with validation of CDC data using CDC framework
- 5+ years of experience with IDE tools such as Visual Studio, Eclipse or Jupyter Notebook
- Experience working with various forms of data infrastructure including SQL Server, Hive, Impala and column-oriented databases such as Cassandra, MongoDB etc.
- ITIL certification
