Position: Part-Time Security Guard
Site: Mapleview Mall
Hours: Thursday & Friday (2300 - 0700)
Payrate: $20.30/hr.
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is ESA

Job Description:
- Deliver consistent, high-quality customer service by assisting clients, tenants, and visitors.
- Act as a visible deterrent to crime and maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
- Enforce property standards, rules, and regulations in a fair and professional manner.
- Conduct regular patrols of the property (on foot or by vehicle).
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies and incidents.
- Provide first aid, CPR, or AED support until medical professionals arrive.
- Monitor and operate CCTV and other security systems.
- Maintain and enforce access control procedures.
- Handle trespassers and unauthorized persons under the Trespass to Property Act.
- De-escalate emergency or crisis situations calmly and safely.
- Maintain detailed memo books and prepare accurate incident and occurrence reports.
- Assist with Fire & Life Safety inspections and other safety initiatives.
- Participate in crowd, line, and access management as needed.
- Investigate incidents, occurrences, and rule violations.
- Collaborate with management and operations teams to support daily functions.
- Use tact, diplomacy, and sound judgment when dealing with the public.
- Ensure compliance with all emergency and standard operating procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of prior security experience.
- Must possess a valid Ontario Security Guard License.
- Must have Valid First Aid & CPR Level C (WSIB approved) certification.
- Must possess a valid “G” Class driver’s license or higher with a clean 3-year driver’s abstract.
- Legally authorized to work full-time in Canada.
- Able and willing to stand, walk, and patrol (on foot or by vehicle) for extended periods.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills & decision making skills
- Capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, both indoors and outdoors.
- Comfortable working in fast paced environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, able to work effectively in a team setting.
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability.
