Vancouver Animal Wellness Hospital (VAWH) is welcoming a full-time Registered Veterinary Technologist, RVT to join our team! We are looking for someone with strong surgical skills, hoping to add alternative modalities to their repertoire of conventional medical skills. Our preferred candidate has a minimum of two or more years of experience in a veterinary hospital.

Compensation: $27.00 to $30.00 per hour. The hourly rate range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
As the ideal candidate, you will:
- Have completed the required Registered Veterinary Technician Program
- Have excellent customer service, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Have critical thinking and the ability to troubleshoot (anesthesia machines, monitoring equipment, etc.)
- Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
- Be confident in your ability to place peripheral intravenous catheters and perform venipuncture for blood collections.
- Be confident in your ability to perform drug calculations and nutritional calculations.
- Perform basic physical exams by accurately counting heart/pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
- Understand normal vital parameters and alert doctors when abnormal.
- Have exceptional interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Be motivated to develop your knowledge and skills in alternative modalities
