ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for an IT professional who wants to build real ownership over endpoint management and modern device deployment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems methodically, automating repeatable tasks, and taking responsibility for improving how devices are built, managed, and supported.

While this position requires end user and help desk support, this is not a call-center role. You will work as an integral part of our support team in all aspects of end user support. However, your primary focus will be Microsoft Intune–based endpoint management, including remote deployments, configuration, software delivery, and troubleshooting across a multi-site environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Provide end user support through our IT help desk.
  • Manage and improve workstation and mobile device deployment using Microsoft Intune
  • Build, test, and maintain device configurations, policies, and application deployments
  • Troubleshoot endpoint issues using a structured, root-cause approach
  • Support users by translating technical issues into clear, practical solutions
  • Document processes and look for opportunities to automate and standardize
  • Occasionally travel to external offices for site-specific technology needs

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Post-secondary diploma in IT or a related field, equivalency may be considered
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience supporting IT hardware and software in a multi-site enterprise environment
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune
  • Strong troubleshooting methodology and persistence in solving problems
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative once objectives are defined
  • Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical users
  • Valid NWT Class 5 driver's license

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Microsoft Endpoint Administrator training or certification
  • Exposure to PowerShell, automation, or scripting concepts

WORK ENVIRONMENTGROWTH:

You'll work in a collaborative IT team that values ownership, documentation, and continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to deepen your skills in modern endpoint management and grow into more advanced systems or infrastructure responsibilities over time.

Yellowknife City Hall is in the heart of the city: on the shores of picturesque Frame Lake and in the downtown core.

Frame Lake is used as a skating rink in winter and a frozen walking/snowmobile path to residential communities. In summer the area (Somba K'e Civic Plaza) is used for the Farmer's Market, live music and festivals. There is a public walking trail surrounding the lake, close enough to be used over lunches and breaks.

City Hall is located in downtown and is a short walk from the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre, numerous restaurants and stores, and the Ruth Inch Memorial Pool.

Like all of Yellowknife, City Hall is distinctively both surrounded by the hauntingly beautiful characteristics of sub-Arctic nature (Aurora borealis, the Midnight Sun, and sun dogs), but close to urban amenities.

Yellowknife is a culturally rich capital thriving with diversity!
