Technical Sales Representative (HVAC)
About the Opportunity
A well-established Canadian HVAC solutions provider is growing its sales team and looking for motivated Technical Sales Representatives to support residential and light commercial dealer accounts.
Whether you're an experienced technical sales professional or a refrigeration/HVAC technician looking to transition into sales, this organization is committed to developing driven individuals with the right attitude. Extensive training, mentorship, and long-term career growth are provided.
This role focuses on building lasting relationships with contractors and dealer partners through a consultative sales approach. Sales cycles typically range from several months to over a year, making relationship-building and persistence key to success.
Compensation
Base Salary: Negotiable based on Performance-based bonuses Monthly car allowance Company laptop and cell phone provided RRSP matching program Comprehensive benefits package Annual health & wellness reimbursement
Key Responsibilities
Business Development Develop new business opportunities and grow existing dealer relationships within an assigned territory Prospect and secure new dealer partners through consistent outreach and relationship building Conduct regular customer visits, cold calls, and business development activities Build long-term relationships with contractors, engineers, and industry professionals Account Management Manage an established portfolio of active and dormant customer accounts while developing new opportunities Execute regular customer touchpoints throughout lengthy sales cycles Provide ongoing support to customers and identify opportunities for business growth Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through responsive service and technical support Sales & Technical Support Present technical products and solutions to customers Respond to customer inquiries and assist with technical proposals Deliver product presentations, lunch-and-learn sessions, and customer training Participate in trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings Pipeline Management Maintain accurate customer information and sales activity within the CRM system Consistently achieve sales targets and activity objectives Manage long-term sales opportunities from prospecting through closing Track performance metrics including new account development, customer engagement, and sales growth
Qualifications
Previous experience in technical sales, outside sales, business development, or account management is preferred Alternatively, experience as an HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, or related service technician with a strong interest in transitioning into sales Strong communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills Self-motivated with a proactive approach to developing new business Comfortable managing long sales cycles and multiple customer relationships Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory Experience using CRM systems is an asset
