Summary:
The Commercial Lines Data Entry & Underwriting Assistant is responsible for supporting underwriting on risk analysis, premium calculation and entry of information into the policy system. The individual assists on responding to inquiries from brokers and policyholders. The individual may collaborate with cross-functional teams and behaviours are modelled in a manner consistent with company values.
Major Responsibilities: Includes other duties as required
Underwriting
Assist Underwriters on accepting, rejecting, endorsing, renewing or canceling contracts in accordance with company underwriting policies, procedures, service standards, applicable laws and regulations based on assigned authority levels.
Assist Underwriters in processing new applications, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, declines and quotes
Request inspections in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Prepare related correspondences and maintain supporting documentation as required.
Customer Service
Assist in communicating underwriting business rules and guidelines to brokers.
Assist in answering enquiries and responding to brokers through verbal and written correspondence.
Assist in guiding and directing brokers on the use of our policy and billing information technology system.
Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with brokers to develop/maintain a stable and profitable book of business.
Assist with training for brokers as required on underwriting matters.
Assist on providing service to brokers in accordance with company service standards.
Other Assist colleagues with special projects or other work as assigned.

Experience
and Skills
Experience with administration duties or underwriting is preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
Consistency of applying accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail approaches.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment is required.
Adaptable and continuous improvement mind-set is required.
Education A post-secondary certificate is preferred (or an equivalent of industry experience)
The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
Canada – Manitoba: $37,300-$51,000 CAD / Annual
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role and level. The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
