Talent Acquisition Partner - Waterloo, Ontario Recruiting isn’t just about filling roles – it’s about shaping the future of our team. This role is responsible for owning and executing full cycle recruiting from sourcing to offer while building deep partnerships with our leaders. This includes collaborating with leaders, identifying hiring needs, sourcing top talent, and ensuring a great recruitment experience

What You'll Do... Own full-cycle recruitment process:

  • Oversee the execution of full-cycle recruitment, ensuring a seamless candidate and hiring manager experience.
  • Drive end-to-end recruiting with velocity and intensity – outreach, screening, coordination, offers and onboarding – all while delivering an outstanding candidate experience.
  • Design structured, objective, and equitable interview processes for the hiring managers.
  • Drive continuous improvement in recruitment practices, ensuring agility and adaptability to evolving market conditions.
  • Maintain the applicant tracking system including driving adoption of digital tools, and emerging technologies to elevate efficiency, candidate experience, and workforce insights.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders (industry associations, universities, partners, agencies).
  • Lead and execute creative sourcing efforts to uncover and attract exceptional talent.
  • Provide coaching to leaders on best practices for recruitment and interviewing
  • Conduct pre-screening interviews, coordinate working interviews, and manage candidate communications which include proactive updates on the hiring process
  • Participating in and managing the decision-making and final selection process
  • Work with leaders to assess hiring needs, including internal capabilities, guiding hiring decisions based on skills, experience and Heartland’s values
  • Partner with the hiring managers to create, edit and post job postings to internal and external job search sites.
  • Provide data-driven insights into our recruitment, including market trends and the overall talent market.
  • Supporting and ensuring current and emerging legislative compliance
  • Proactively build and nurture a pipeline of exceptional candidates for future hiring needs.

Early Career, Campus, External Ambassadorship

  • Function as an ambassador for Heartland; educate candidates on the culture, career growth, benefits, and many advantages of working for Heartland.
  • Participate in industry forums, conferences, and events to strengthen our employer brand.
  • Oversee early career and campus recruitment programs, including co-op, internships, and graduate programs.
  • Partner with educational institutions and external organizations to build robust pipelines of emerging talent.
  • Partner with leaders to develop annual graduate recruitment strategy and plans
  • Organize Heartland specific in-house business case events

What You'll Bring...

  • Minimum 5 years of full cycle recruiting experience, insurance industry experience is an asset
  • Proficiency with ATS and sourcing platforms such as Dayforce, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other modern recruitment tools.
  • Proven track record of sourcing, engaging, and qualifying top talent across functions.
  • Clear and persuasive communicator who can pitch roles with credibility and enthusiasm.
  • Highly organized with sharp attention to detail, capable of managing multiple fast-moving searches simultaneously.
  • Strong people skills and the ability to build solid relationships through value-added execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • CHRP or CHRL designation is an asset
