Accountabilities: The Vice President of Research & Development will lead the technology strategy, engineering transformation, and product evolution while ensuring alignment with business objectives. Key responsibilities include: Leading the AI-driven transformation of the R&D organization by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, accelerate delivery, and create measurable business value. Translating AI capabilities into revenue-generating initiatives, cost optimization opportunities, and strategic technology investments. Driving the modernization of a next-generation enterprise platform through AI-assisted development practices and improved engineering workflows. Overseeing product strategy and evolution, including the development of intelligent AI-powered capabilities that strengthen market differentiation. Acting as a strategic technology advisor to executive leadership by connecting technical decisions with business priorities and financial outcomes. Building and communicating business cases for technology investments while collaborating with Sales, Professional Services, Support, and other business functions. Managing the R&D organization’s financial performance, including budget allocation across product development, technical debt reduction, and strategic initiatives. Establishing metrics-driven development practices that improve velocity, predictability, and software quality. Leading, mentoring, and developing a large engineering organization while aligning teams with strategic goals. Creating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, innovation, and adaptability. Supporting organizational change by building trust, engaging teams, and guiding employees through transformation initiatives. Leveraging AI-enabled tools, automation, and emerging technologies to improve workflows while maintaining appropriate security and compliance standards. Requirements: The ideal candidate is a business-focused technology executive with proven experience leading complex software organizations, driving innovation, and delivering measurable results. Required qualifications and skills include: Demonstrated experience as a senior technology leader, VP of Engineering, R&D leader, or similar executive role. Proven ability to move AI initiatives from concept to production with measurable business impact, including revenue growth or cost reduction. Extensive experience modernizing mature, revenue-generating enterprise software platforms. Strong understanding of software development lifecycle improvements, engineering operations, and technology strategy. Experience managing large engineering organizations and leading teams through significant cultural or operational change. Strong business acumen with experience connecting technology investments to financial outcomes and organizational goals. Experience managing R&D budgets and operating with P&L discipline. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence executives and translate technical concepts into business value. High emotional intelligence with a demonstrated ability to build trust, motivate teams, and navigate complex environments. Strategic mindset combined with practical execution skills and a focus on measurable outcomes. Curiosity and willingness to adopt AI tools, automation technologies, and innovative approaches to improve business performance. Ability to travel approximately 50% as required, including international travel.
