Job Details: Title : Interaction Designer – Advanced Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 4 Days Onsite, 1 Day Remote) Duration: 12-Month Contract (Strong Potential for Extension) Type: Full Time Contract
Overview: The Online Banking team is responsible for creating online banking and digital servicing capabilities that empower clients to be independent and confident by providing simplified self-service banking experiences. The team currently consists of five designers and a design manager supporting multiple squads. The selected candidate will collaborate across Online Banking squads and partner closely with the Design Systems team. Responsibilities: Provide design solutions for complex and ambiguous problems. Collaborate with and support designers and developers in the use of design systems, ensuring the accuracy of documentation and implementation. Support product delivery through planning, prioritization, assignment, and execution of design work. Promote and advance design practices and design systems within the team. Help maintain and evolve design libraries and documentation. Collaborate across multiple squads and cross-functional teams to deliver user-centered solutions. Participate in decision-making processes and contribute to product direction through thoughtful design recommendations.
Project Focus: The designer will work on online banking and digital servicing capabilities that help clients manage their financial needs through intuitive self-service experiences. The focus is on creating simplified, user-centered digital products that positively impact the customer experience. Required Qualifications: 4–7+ years of experience in Interaction Design, UX Design, Product Design, or related disciplines. Strong skills in Interaction Design, Visual Design, and UX Design Thinking methodologies. Experience working with Design Systems, including component creation, asset management, and documentation. Advanced proficiency in Figma. Advanced knowledge of current best practices for Responsive Web and Mobile Design. Strong Design Thinking skills with the ability to demonstrate end-to-end design processes. Strong decision-making and critical-thinking abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to navigate ambiguity and proactively solve complex problems. Strong collaboration skills with designers, developers, product teams, and stakeholders. Ability to clearly articulate design rationale and present work effectively. Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in UX Research. Knowledge of Inclusive Design and Accessibility best practices. Experience facilitating workshops. Product Designer mindset with awareness of business concepts, systems thinking, UX research, and collaborative methodologies. Experience within banking, financial services, fintech, or other complex enterprise environments is highly preferred. Key Success Factors: Active collaboration with multiple squads and teams. Development of deep domain knowledge and participation in decision-making processes. Ability to influence projects through collaboration, empathy, and strong design thinking. Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work effectively in uncertain environments.
