About the role

Who you are

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant marketing experience within the music industry or a similar field
  • Education in Marketing or Business administration and/ or equivalent
  • Strong track record of leading fully integrated successful marketing campaigns
  • Strong understanding of analytics and data interpretation
  • Good working knowledge of all musical styles, genres and landscape both in Canada and global
  • Proven ability to work both collaboratively with cross-functional teams and independently with a high level of organization and accountability
  • Strong presentation, leadership, and project management skills
  • Versatile – highly adaptable in a demanding, fast-moving, ever-evolving environment while being able to approach challenging situations in a mature manner
  • A passion for music, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude makes this individual a natural leader and an inspiration to those around them in this collaborative team environment
  • Marketing experience working within the music industry with labels, brands, and/or agencies
  • Knowledge of relevant streaming platforms and applications of social media
  • Strong understanding of using music data applications and interpretations

What the job involves

  • Reports To: Director, Marketing
  • Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Manager is responsible for overseeing various aspects of Marketing and Branding for an array of emerging Warner Music artists that span across multiple genres
  • Develop release and career-building strategies and initiatives for an assigned roster of diverse Artists
  • Work in unison with various frontline teams (A&R, Promotion, Publicity, Catalogue, Social Media, Content, Strategy & Analytics, Business & Audience Development, Design & Web Development, and Commercial Revenue) to lead project strategy and execution
  • In partnership with internal stakeholders, develop and build a clear brand identity for artists while maintaining a consistent creative thread through all marketing materials
  • Act as Warner Music Canada's primary liaison with Artist Management teams, International Labels, and Repertoire Owners
  • Plan, manage, and monitor project budgets in close coordination with the VP of Marketing
  • Responsible for the communication of project information and updates with supervisor and other team members, and through various internal communique, real-time status reports, and daily email updates
  • Constantly interpret and analyze individual project data to inform Marketing decisions and prioritization, and to reach set goals
  • Continually monitor and apply learnings from market and Industry developments and consumer trends
  • Use post-mortem campaign analysis to draw actionable conclusions and refine future initiatives
  • Communicate regularly with various outside business partners, third-party vendors & services, brands, and agencies
