About the Job

Are you passionate about sustainability and ready to play a vital role in keeping operations running smoothly? Join our environmentally focused team as a Customer Service Representative/Dispatcher at our Walker Gro-Bark Office & Processing Facility in Caledon, ON.

Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of the order and logistics process, ensuring the seamless movement of raw materials and finished product between sites and customer deliveries. It is imperative to be able to prioritize critical and urgent tasks in a logical and efficient manner to ensure daily activity flows smoothly in an organized manner. The CSR/Dispatcher should be customer service oriented in order to provide a positive experience while interfacing with customers, drivers and suppliers. You will cover a select zone within Gro-Bark’s distribution network. This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday-Friday.

What you will be doing:

  • Liaison directly with customers and keep them informed of delivery schedules in order to set realistic expectations and meet customer demands.
  • Handle all aspects of order processing, from entry to shipment confirmation, ensuring accuracy in Oracle and our transportation management system (OTM).
  • Route truck deliveries in an efficient manner, maintaining regular communication with drivers to ensure timely deliveries. Identify any delayed loads and ensure that customers are notified of changes in delivery schedules.
  • Monitor driver hours and electronic logs, using this information to plan safe efficient workloads.
  • Maintain knowledge of transport equipment and regulations to understand how drivers can be routed, based on limitations imposed by equipment specifications and regional regulations.
  • Maintain adequate understanding of various shipping sites and customer locations around Ontario, in order to efficiently schedule deliveries and identify backhaul opportunities.
  • Troubleshoot for data entry errors and monitor incorrect entries in Oracle.
  • Collaborate closely with Fleet, Purchasing, and Sales teams to keep operations running smoothly and sustainably.

Here’s What You Need:

  • 1-3 years’ experience in customer service or dispatch - experience working as a dispatcher in logistics and transportation is a strong asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word) for data entry, tracking and reporting. Experience with Oracle is an asset.
  • A proactive mindset — you take initiative, solve problems efficiently, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • A valid G-Class Driver’s License.
