Legal Aid Saskatchewan provides full legal services to clients who are financially eligible, supporting both adult and youth clients with criminal and family law matters. Duty counsel service is available to in-custody clients at all 74 Provincial Courthouses and circuit points, regardless of financial status. Legal Aid Saskatchewan has been committed to access to justice since 1974 and operates 14 offices across the province.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Lawyer located in Meadow Lake, SK. The Lawyer will handle criminal matters and family law issues, providing full legal services to financially eligible clients. Responsibilities include representing clients in court, offering legal advice, preparing legal documents, and negotiating settlements. The Lawyer will also provide duty counsel services to in-custody clients and answer legal inquiries through brief interviews or telephone calls.
Qualifications
- Experience in criminal and family law
- Strong courtroom advocacy and negotiation skills
- Proficient in legal research and preparing legal documents
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Saskatchewan
- Commitment to social justice and serving marginalized communities

Legal advice through the Brydges Line is available to those arrested or detained, regardless of financial status. Summary advice and information may be provided to anyone by a Legal Aid Saskatchewan lawyer about a wide range of matters if they involve no more than a brief interview or telephone call.
