The Opportunity:
We’re looking for an intern to join our Branding & Digital Marketing team for a 4-month opportunity. The Branding and Digital Marketing team is responsible for Vancity’s digital presence, including the website experience. The team works cross‑functionally to ensure information is clear, accessible, and aligned with Vancity’s brand and values. This role will report to the Lead, Web Strategist and work closely with digital product, UX, and content partners.
A typical day would involve:
- Supporting content updates and maintenance of Vancity's websites content, including written content, images, and links
- Assisting with testing website changes to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and a good user experience
- Collaborating with designers, developers, and content owners on digital projects and improvements
- Helping organize and document website updates, requests, and learnings
- Conducting basic research or audits to support ongoing website optimization and improvements
You are:
- Technology Savvy - You have education and/or experience supporting website development/ implementation / support efforts.
- A Critical Thinker - You seek to facilitate data-driven decision making, including "rolling up your sleeves" to elicit requirements, research, analyze data
- A Problem Solver - Your skills to diagnose challenges and issues, develop innovative business solutions, and assess risks and opportunities that may affect the business, are showcased on a daily basis.
- Curious & innovative - You always do your research and analyze it to assess and recommend a course of action considering industry best practices
- A team player - you can engage with members of your team as well as cross-functional teams and are willing to collaborate across projects and initiatives.
You have:
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program within an applicable field and eligible for co-op/internship opportunities
- An interest in web development, UX/UI, or digital experience design
- A willingness to work in a highly flexible environment with multiple competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A high level of attention to detail
Bonus points, if you have:
- Familiarity with managing websites on content management systems (CMS), bonus points for Sitecore
- Understanding of HTML, CSS, or web accessibility principles
- Experience with QA testing, usability testing, or digital documentation tools
- An interest in information architecture or content strategy
- Experience in accessibility, usability, or inclusive digital design
What You’ll Earn:
This role offers a pay range of $27.85/hr.
