HSE Manager Site Support
The HSE Manager of Site Support position will support the design, implementation, and site execution of occupational health, safety, and environmental procedures for 15 Bayer locations that operate 365 days per years. This position is highly collaborative and will lead and/or participate on multifunctional teams, including interactions with Business, Site and Functional personnel at all levels of the organization, including: leadership, operational, and technical personnel.
This is a permanent, home-based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with travel within Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
What you will do:
The NA HSE Manager of Site Support will work to ensure sites maintain compliance, protect our business license to operate, and impact lives by reducing incidents, and creating a beyond the fence line HSE culture.

Support 15 sites in Manitoba plus some in Saskatchewan, operating 365 days per year, including the on-going development of site HSE personnel.

Collaborate cross-functionally with multi-disciplinary groups, such as Business Leaders, Site Leaders, Regional HSE, Site HSE and technical personnel to establish cost effective and appropriate measures to reduce risks, comply with safety and health regulations, and to realize established objectives.

Work with sites to oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of site procedures to assure personnel, contractor and facility compliance to regulatory and company requirements, including development of site HSE personnel.

Actively champion the collection, dissemination, and execution of best practice sharing within the region. Act as a change agent to effectively identify, communicate, and further evolve continuous improvement efforts with the intent to increase efficiency and reduce risks throughout the region.

Ensure completion of incident investigations, root cause analysis, and trend analysis for incidents, including the identification of corrective actions, tracking actions to completion, and verification of the effectiveness of actions taken.

Conduct facility HSE compliance audits, inspections, and risk assessments, including participation during corporate audits.

Support preparation of HSE permits and reports to ensure regulatory compliance with the operation and construction of air permits, waste management, worker protection, and Tier II requirements.

Provide technical and functional support to capital projects, new equipment purchases, expansions, mergers & acquisitions, divestments, and expense spending related to site improvement plans.

Subject Matter Expert responsibility for various programs providing governance for the HSE (Health Safety and Environmental) team as well as enterprise wide (i.e. machine safety, management reviews, contractor guest management)

Canadian Leads for pilot programs, teams and taskforces required to support local and regional initiatives
Who you are:
-
Minimum of a B.A. or B.S. in an Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene or Safety management, or related field.
-
Minimum of 5 years of progressive, professional experience related to HSE within the agricultural, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, research, healthcare or chemical industry.

Technical process experience and acumen with Provincial Workers Compensation Boards
-
Professional designation, preferred (CSP, CRST, RSO, CIH, etc.)
-
Experience implementation ISO-like HSE Management Systems, preferred
-
Working knowledge of Provincial and Federal Occupational, Health & Safety standards that impact Bayer operations
-
Strong Leadership skills, including ability to influence and communicate at all organizational levels.

Highly motivated and strong commitment to team
-
Ability to be self-directed and manage ambiguity by leveraging, effective organization, coordination and project management skills.
-
Ability to learn new software programs, analyze data, and provide actionable insights to management
-
Able to Travel approx. 50% air travel
