ABOUT CCI OTTAWA
The Catholic Centre for Immigrants (CCI OTTAWA) has been serving refugees and immigrants for more than 70 years. It is the host agency of OLIP and thus the employer of OLIP staff.
CCI OTTAWA is a bridge between immigrants and refugees who come to Ottawa each year and the community. CCI Ottawa provides them with settlement services, language support, housing, transportation, bridge to healthcare services, employment, community connections, and more.
ABOUT OLIP
The Ottawa Local Immigration Partnership (OLIP) is a multi-sectoral partnership of over 80 organizations working on a common vision and shared priorities focused on building Ottawa’s capacity to attract, settle, and integrate immigrants. The partners’ shared priorities are outlined in the Ottawa Immigration Strategy, which guides ongoing community-based planning and collaborative actions across six sectors; (1) settlement; (2) economic integration; (3) education; (4) health & wellbeing; (5) language training & interpretation; and (6) socio-civic integration.
A community-wide governance system and process enable partners’ connections and collaborations to implement shared priorities. OLIP partners include the City of Ottawa (multiple municipal departments), local universities and colleges, the four school boards, settlement, health and education service providers, employer associations, housing providers, and immigrant civic groups.
The secretariat functions as a backbone organization to support and facilitate the partnership’s governance process, community-based planning, and collaborative actions.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Partner Relations Officer manages OLIP’s engagement of stakeholders in the implementation of the Ottawa Immigration Strategy. This role convenes meetings, facilitates purposeful discussions, and supports partners’ progress on shared priorities and plans while also building lasting, quality-based relationships.
This position reports to: OLIP Executive Director
Employment Status: Full-time (35 hours/week), 1-year renewable contract (Oct 2025 – Mar 31, 2026)
Annual Salary: $43.74 per hour

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Advance OLIP partners’ progress on the Ottawa Immigration Strategy by convening and facilitating strategic meetings and consultations – setting agendas, guiding discussions to agreed actions, recording decisions, and coordinating timely follow-up to support implementation.

Managing the six sector tables, assessing the partners’ needs, determining priorities and convening groups to maintain and strengthen relations between the partners.

Facilitate and document partner dialogues, capturing key learnings and emerging issues to promote shared understanding and sustained collective action.

Collaborate with OLIP Communications and Events Officer to strengthen information flow between partners and communicate collaborative plans and actions to the wider partnership.
-
Collaboratively develop annual reports that inform the OLIP Council of partners’ plans and progress and facilitate follow-through with deliberations and commitments.

Chart pathways of progress and develop biennial progress reports on partners’ accomplishments and collective impact, in collaboration with the OLIP Executive Director.

Work with researchers to develop plans for knowledge mobilization.

Assist in strengthening shared understanding of challenges, needs and opportunities across sectors, such as through seminar development.
-
Promote information sharing between sectors by soliciting contributions to the OLIP newsletter and regular updates from stakeholders.
-
Assist in content development and marketing strategies that will contribute to OLIP’s newsletter, social media, website updates, and the development of OLIP videos to promote awareness on specific themes.

Contribute to the development of team workplans, based on directions emerging from partners’ discussions.

Prepare reports and presentations as needed.
-
Liaise with other Local Immigration Partnerships to share progress and learning.
-
Represent OLIP on community committees and working groups dealing with aspects of the attraction, settlement, and integration of immigrants in Ottawa.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
-
Post-secondary degree in social sciences, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
-
Minimum four years of experience in stakeholder engagement.
-
Minimum four years of experience in strategic outreach, relationship development, and partnership development and management.
-
Knowledge of immigration policy context, immigration trends and local settlement systems.
-
Experience in writing successful proposals an asset.
-
Ability to write clear and concise reports, briefs, presentations, web content, etc.
-
Advanced computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Office, web tools, electronic conferencing.
-
Intercultural competency with a demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion.
-
Group facilitation skills.
-
Fluency in English is required. Fluency in French is a strong asset.
