HUMAN RESOURCES ADVISOR
(Permanent, Full-Time)
Located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, West Vancouver is a vibrant community on the North Shore and home to parks, beaches, and sports, recreation and arts amenities. The Human Resources Department has an opening for a permanent, full-time Human Resources Advisor. We are seeking a relationship-focused HR professional with a strategic mindset and a passion for partnering with leaders and employees to foster an engaged, high-performing workplace.
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, this position is responsible for:
Providing consultation and advice to managers and staff on a wide range of human resource programs, processes, initiatives and labour relations matters; Ensuring that practices are consistent and comply with legislation, collective agreements, administrative regulations, policies and procedures; Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, managers, bargaining agents, and external contacts, and interacting in a manner that builds trust, credibility, and rapport; Coordinating, guiding, and participating in the recruitment and selection process; and, Participating in other duties and special projects, as assigned.
The ideal candidate has a degree in Human Resources or a related field and progressive experience supporting a broad range of people and organizational initiatives within a unionized environment, ideally with some of the experience gained in a public sector environment. They are a collaborative and solutions-oriented professional with strong business acumen, exceptional relationship-building skills, and the ability to partner effectively with leaders and employees. The successful candidate demonstrates sound judgment, excellent communication and facilitation skills, strong organizational capabilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement. A CPHR designation is considered an asset.
The District offers an optional compressed work week and excellent benefits and pension plans. Employees also have access to wellness resources, including mental health supports, discounted fitness programs and access to the onsite fitness centres.
The successful candidate will be required to supply an acceptable police information check and a copy of their credentials. A personal vehicle and a valid BC Driver’s License are required.

Exempt – Permanent, Full-time
Hours Of Work
35 hours per week (hours and days of work may vary)
Salary
$99,300.00 - $111,700.00 per annum (2025 rate)
