Our Health & Safety team plays a vital role in ensuring a safe environment for staff, clients, and visitors across all regions.

Role Summary

As the Health & Safety Coordinator, you’ll help promote a strong safety culture at ICE. You’ll work closely with programs, supervisors, and managers to ensure our health and safety standards are followed and continuously improved. This is a busy, detail-oriented position that combines office administration, data tracking, and hands-on coordination with field teams.

Every day will be different — from reviewing WCB claims and supporting modified duties, to coordinating safety committees and helping identify workplace hazards. You’ll play a key role in keeping our people and workplaces safe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a positive and proactive health and safety culture across all ICE regions
  • Support implementation and monitoring of safety policies and procedures
  • Process workplace injury reports and manage WCB claims, including modified work coordination
  • Identify and assess workplace hazards; recommend and track control measures
  • Support Health & Safety Committees in all regions
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and risk assessments
  • Maintain health and safety records and data tracking systems
  • Monitor facility safety and coordinate maintenance of safety equipment and supplies
  • Administer the ICE “Thank You” Card safety incentive program
  • Support additional projects and administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
  • Certification or designation in Health & Safety (asset)
  • 1+ years of experience in a Health & Safety role
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, data entry, and digital tracking systems)
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check (within 6 months)
  • Certification in incident investigation and hazard assessment (asset)
  • Experience in the disability services sector (asset)
  • Organized, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
